Praise, my soul, the King of heaven
Today is the first real Sunday of 'Ordinary' time . We've had a rich feast: Lent, The Triduum, Easter, Ascension, Pentecost, Trinity, Corpus Christi – not to mention First Communions and Baptims. These are all wonderful occasions but today felt like the first plate of egg and chips after a couple of weeks of rich Christmas fare – delicious.
The assembly raised the roof with our home-grown Assisi Acclamations. And I was thinking how, sadly, we must soon ditch this setting because of the new translation of the Roman Missal. Feels like starting all over again.
