Let all mortal flesh keep silence
We're keeping the music very simple throughout Advent and using several items each week to tie the season together. Farrell's Litany of the Word is particularly useful as, with so many verses, we are able to choose those which best fit each week. We're using it each week: Fr Graeme and servers arrive in the sanctuary almost casually and we all remain seated. The Litany builds up, continues and fades away and we begin Mass in a very quiet, reflective way. The reaction from the assembly has been most positive.
