In an attempt to tie the season together we used several items each week. We began each Sunday with the assembly, priest and servers seated – then we sang Bernadette Farrell's Litany of the Word, selecting the verses which best tied in with the readings of each Sunday. This certainly made our Advent Sundays feel a little different and, coupled with a very quiet recession at the end of Mass, has paved the way for the blast of trumpets which will herald the birth of Christ on Christmas Eve.
