Sunday 15, Year C

Christ be our light – Bernadette Farrell
Glory, glory – Paul Inwood
Ps 18: Your words are Spirit – Nick Baty

Winter Alleluia – Nick Baty
Teach me, O God – Christopher Walker
Valley Acclamations – Nick Baty
Millennium Fraction Song – Paul Inwood
Where is love – Alan Rees
In Christ there is no East or West

It's quite some time since we sang Walker's Teach me, O God – so long, in fact, that the face of our congregation has changed quite a bit. So today was the first time many had sung this rather luscious piece. It was well received. And we used the alternative psalm for today: The law of the Lord is perfect, it revives the soul. However, Graeme's homily made me realise that I'd misread today's Gospel. This was not about fulfilling the letter of the law but of understanding its spirit. When this Gospel comes around again – in three years time – I'll use David Haas's Deep within I will plant my law, not on stone but in your hearts...."
