Funeral Mass for Josie Pittman

Unless a grain of wheat – Bernadette Farrell
Ps 22: Shepherd me, Lord – Nick Baty
Easter Alleluia – Medieval/Haugen
Dwelling Place – Nick Baty
Celtic Liturgy – Christopher Walker
Millennium Fraction Song – Paul Inwood
Ave Verum – Mozart
Be still for the presence of the Lord – David Evans
I know that my redeemer lives (Rockingham)
Song of Farewell – Ernest Sands

Today was Auntie Josie's Funeral. The girls of the Immaculate Singers all crossed the river to my home parish in Moreton, Wirral – every one of them managed to be there, some taking time off work – and they sang superbly. It was a great occasion with more than 300 in the church. At the end, everyone processed out behind the coffin singing Ernie Sands' Song of Farewell while trumpet and trombone played fanfares from the organ gallery. Outside, all gathered around the cortege and waved as Josie left Sacred Heart Church for the last time.
