Every community has its sad occasions and today was one of our saddest: We gathered to bid farewell to Monty Tyrer.
Monty died on Maundy Thursday after a battle with cancer. He was the licensee of our parish club and, with his wife, Sarah, has organised so many of our celebrations. So today we turned out in force to say goodbye and thank you. The choir, decked out in Liverpool scarves, really came up trumps and sang Dwelling Place as its never been sung before. Rest in peace, Monty, you are greatly missed.
