Sunday 7, 2011

For the healing of the nations
San Domingo Gloria – Nick Baty
Ps 102: The Lord is compassion and love – Nick Baty
Summer Alleluia – Nick Baty
Gesu, Gesu, fill us with your love
Warrington Acclamations – Nick Baty
Millennium Fraction Song – Paul Inwood
Where is love – Alan Rees
Praise, my soul, the king of heaven

Our music today was very simple – and the liturgy was better for it. There was nothing new, no complicated harmonies, no remembering which item comes next. The congregation sang well: We hadn't sung Tom Colvin's Gesu, Gesu for a couple of years but they remembered it. The Holy of Warrington Acclamations has really taken off. Having sung it for three consecutive weeks, we'll put it away for now and bring it back for Lent with one of the acclamations from the new translation: Save us, Saviour of the world.
